I never could remember whether he ever took the crown from Harley Race ( I didn’t think the script allowed that ).

I thought this line originated with Coach Bill Peterson who was at FSU in the '60s.

When I watched wrestling many years ago, he was known as “Dirty Dusty Rhodes.”

It's an insult to mention The American Dream and WWE (WWF)

He was with the The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) for the good years.

I grew up in Charlotte, and went to school with some these guys kids.
Dusty used to tape the corners of razor blades to his fingers to get the blood. If you looked at his forehead he had dozens of cut scars.
They were all pretty decent guys, Just a job.
Anybody recognize the curly haired guy behind Dusty in the photo?
Magnum TA (Terry Allen) almost killed himself when he wrapped his Porsche around a pole on Providence Rd.
After Sunday matches, they all used to get together at Bennigans to eat, and drink. Saw Ric Flair rip a urinal off the wall there because he was pissed at a girl.
It was all faked in the ring, but these were BIG dudes.

RIP Dusty.
