Hope Solo does a really good job punching the ball away, must have had a lot of practice.

Well, at the very least the ‘gay’ part is true about this team.

...and they're pretty boring also.

(and I'm a fan. Yesterday was the game to see. Messi lost another international final to Chile in the Copa America. That was a fun game played at the highest level. Tonight's game I feel more obligated to watch)

USA will win, most of our gals are very upstanding but I do think we have a bad apple or two.

Yesterday’s game was definitely a must-see, now if the England men’s team can take a lesson from the women, beat Germany, get a bronze medal, still a great accomplishment.

Japan is the defending world champion.

The USA won World Cup titles back to back in 1999 and 2003.

So they’re up against the best team in the world today.

England’s best showing since 1966 after their humiliation in the World Cup in Brazil last year.

Should know early on how it will go. If Japan is moving the ball well and looks rested, we could have problems. They are technically excellent when playing their best.

BUT...Julie Johnston has been, by far, the MVP of this tournament and as long as she is playing for US, I like our chances.

Correction - Team USA won the inaugural game in the tournament in 1991 in China. And they won in 1999.

Today they hope to make it three straight titles. More than any other country.

That would put them on a par with Brazil, which won its third title in the World Cup in 1970.

Homosexual if you prefer. Check their profiles if you desire. For now I’m just gonna be a fan. Just couldn’t let that straight line go by untouched. (pun intended)
