Why Sarah Palin should run for U.S. president: Hepburn
TheStar.com ^ | Published on Sat May 02 2015 | Bob Hepburn

Every day Bonny Gray prays she will soon turn on her TV and see that Sarah Palin has entered the U.S. presidential race.

“I am a believer in prayers being answered and I pray every night for you to be our next president,” Gray wrote two weeks ago in a Facebook post. “You against Hillary would be a sure victory for you.”

Gray isn’t alone in urging Palin, the former Alaskan governor and Republican vice-presidential nominee, to jump into the 2016 campaign and take on Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton in a contest that could result in the first female U.S. president.

Indeed, while most of the American political elite have long dismissed Palin as a toxic joke, her supporters are as fiercely loyal as ever and increasingly vocal in their calls for her to seek the Republican nomination.

I'm all for this idea.

Sarah you've got a (huge) amount of people out here, ready to support you.

Not gonna happen, in 2016 anyway. It is almost silly to talk about it. Live in the real world, not a fantasy world.

I’m just saying.

The Wisconsin governor is getting in the race today.

Palin has another book being released this fall. I and a whole (bunch) of people enthusiatically support her.

I agree she hasn’t made any moves to encourage any of this, but she could sure shake things up.

Keep an eye on Palin.

The snobby, “elite” MSM (heavily invested in the low-class Clintons & the Democrats) would work 24/7 to crucify Sarah if she runs.

I’ve always been #1 for Palin.

Haven’t turned on Trump at all. All I am saying is, Palin should consider running this time.

She could do very well.

We have an embarrassment of riches already. In the past two cycles we were reduced to supporting Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich, both flawed candidates, because we didn’t have any other serious, vetted, presidential timber. Now we have Jindal, Fiorina, and any number of others who would make a good president. In addition to Cruz, who might win, and Trump, who would end up getting some version of the treatment Palin already has been subjected to. And who, I might add, is pretty likely to turn into a loose cannon at a moment’s notice.
At the moment the question seems to me to be, “Assuming mutual destruction between JEB and Trump, who can assume the role of adult in the room?”

It’s funny that after listening to Trump’s speech in Phoenix I said to myself I haven’t been this enthused since one of Sarah Palin campaign events. Trump is no Sarah Palin but he’s not your run of the mill Republican candidate either. Say the word Sarah and I’m all in.

Keep an eye on Palin

I keep both eyes on Palin, as she's very easy on them. But, she's not running for President.

I gotta agree. She’s not gonna run this cycle. Probably not everl unless she’s part of the Cruz administration. I’d love to see her as Secretary of the Interior. ;-)
