The US account has now shifted four times in four days. On Saturday, the US military said it did not know for certain that it had struck the hospital but that US forces were taking fire in Kunduz.
On Sunday, it said that the strike took place in the “vicinity” of the hospital and suggested it had been accidentally struck. On Monday, Campbell said that the Afghans requested the strike and said US forces in the area were not “threatened”.

It is always horrible when anyone dies from friendly fire. But they are in a war zone so what are they going to do about it? In previous discussions, the docs without borders don’t have a pristine reputation when it comes to not collaborating with the enemy.
I don’t know about anyone else, but it IS war. War, is, as they say, Hell. I don’t think that the United States, as a rule, should go around bombing hospitals. And I am not shilling for the Obama administration, but, hey, news flash, Afghanistan, if you don’t want this kind of thing happening, how about, you know, joining civilization?
Any civilized people would avoid that, if possible. That's why Hamas has it's headquarters in Gaza there.
I'm sure it's not the first time (a cruise missile on a bunker sheltering women and children in Baghdad near the beginning of Desert Storm) I remember and don't remember any flak or apology for that. It was before the Dems turned on Bush.
