In my youthful days, chicken wings were the parts that got thrown away, along with the neck. See no reason to change.

You must be young- my grandma lived through the Dust Bowl and taught us to use pretty much everything. She made the BEST dumplings and soup in the world... the weirdest parts of animals are usually the most flavorful.
And no one in the family ever got food poisoning, either...

When cooking or cutting up a whole chicken, save the wings for the freezer. Eventually, you’ll have enough for a batch of hot wings. That way nothing is thrown away and you’ve saved a few dollars.
