Yes. I've lived in New York City all of my 50+ years, but my father was from Tennessee. He and my mother met while he was on leave from the Navy visiting Central Park with a shipmate. Both are gone now.

yeah, i was shocked too!! saw it on a documentary.
he was quite out of shape and bald a few years before the cancer.
but i still wouldnt have wanted to mess with him.
great documentary. he went head to head with NYU, I think, the students.
they hated him before he got there, and didn’t love him after he left, but many did take a liking to him.

My mother was Italian, 100%. So that makes me half Italian, half Tennessean! We never fully figured out what his precise ancestry was, as his family history went many years back in Tennessee. I do know for a fact that I have a little Cherokee Indian in me. My grandfather, from what I understand, was 1/4 Cherokee.
