Copy the article you want to post and paste it in the top box located at the linked website. Press convert, then copy the converted text and paste it into the Free Republic "Body of Thread" box.

Try it a few times. It's basically self-explanatory and very easy.

The problem lies in the ‘ and “ slant. If they are vertical they will post okay but if
they are slanted at a 45 degree angle they will post with all the garbage.

Preview before posting will help catch a lot of the problems and allow for correcting.

Good question. When the campaign started I was using the correct Mexican punctuation for ¡Yeb! and I had to stop because it always screwed up

Yep, when it shows up just delete and replace with a hyphen from the keyboard.
That’s one of the reasons to preview so that the corrections can be made.

You're right. It was a bit of sloppiness on my part not to preview. It only takes a minute. Until the character problem is permanently solved, perhaps the posting window can be modified to require a preview.
