Donald Trump Thinks American Workers Aren’t Good Enough for the Trump Organization
National Review ^ | 4/25/2016 | Ian Tuttle

Posted on 02/26/2016 9:26:16 AM PST by dschapin

The news that Donald Trump turned down 94 percent of American job applicants to his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla., in favor of foreign workers brought in under the H-2B visa program should come as a surprise to absolutely no one.... [During] the campaign season, Trump has proven himself a liar of Clintonian proportions, and there has never been any reason to believe that he was somehow more trustworthy when it came to his rhetorical opposition to America's foolish immigration policies ...

And, indeed, this turns out not to be the first time that Donald Trump has undermined American workers to expand his profit margin. That has been his M.O. throughout his career.

...

Donald humbly referred to Trump Tower as “The Most Important Project in the World.”

Apparently, the first leg of the project was too important to entrust to American workers. In a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Federal Court, members of House Wreckers Local 95 alleged that, to avoid paying union employees their pension and welfare benefits, Trump (and the contractor he used for the job, Kaszycki & Sons) brought in some 200 undocumented Polish workers to demolish the Bonwit Teller building that then occupied the site of the future Trump Tower.

...

Some three decades later, nothing has changed. Last year, the Washington Post reported that Trump is using undocumented workers in the construction work on his much-feted project to convert Washington, D.C.’s Old Post Office Pavilion into a luxury hotel...

...

...Donald Trump’s professional history is one of undermining American workers — by exploiting the law wherever possible and, when that’s not enough, breaking it outright. Donald Trump is not looking out for American workers. He is looking out for his own pocketbook. That’s not going to change by putting him in the White House.

Trump is being revealed as one of the biggest hypocrites ever to run for President. His entire campaign message is that he will stand up for American workers. However, his business history has been one of exploiting American workers by bringing in cheep illegal workers. Please wake up fellow freepers. Trump, like Trump University, is a fraud.

The article on National Review offers extensive documentation of Trump's habit of using foreign and frequently illegal labor for his projects. Here is a link to the article.

Sen. Cruz Presents Measure to Strengthen, Improve Legal Immigration
Offers amendment to increase H-1B visas to help improve, retain high-skilled labor force

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) today presented an amendment to the Gang of Eight immigration bill that would improve our nation’s legal immigration system by increasing high-skilled temporary worker visas, called H-1B visas, by 500 percent. The measure would effectively address the needs of our nation’s high-skilled workforce by helping meet the growing demand for workers in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. It will also make block grants available to states to promote STEM education efforts and increase domestic STEM professionals. The committee voted against the amendment 4 to 14 with every Democrat voting against it on a party-line vote.

Sounds like something a dyslexic mind reader would say.

That’s just about the dumbest conclusion I’ve seen from this article. It was posted yesterday also, but the same applies: there’s not a single Trump quote on this in the entire article. In fact, there’s no proof of it in the article.

And going back to a building project in the 80’s? Get real.

It’s time to face the reality of Trump’s victories. After Tuesday, it will be time to face the reality of his lead in delegates.

Trump has hired more American workers than every other Republican candidate combined, multiplied by 100.

We have a terrible time hiring too.
Drug tests and background checks.

As the jobs in question were in Florida, the issue is likely the same.

The problem is welfare.
People can not work and still feed their addictions.

Big government makes us all do things we would not do if we were a free people.

This is why we all hate the GOPe.

They write the donor-pleasing-laws that force the rest of us to do things we would prefer not to do.

How many ‘conservatives’ have illegal aliens cutting their grass and babysitting their children?

Trump is finally doing something about the mess we are in. Good on Trump!

If the tax laws are changed, manufacturing will return. It is difficult to make anything in America with the tax rates and regulations—oh add Obamacare.

So one of his sub-contractors working on the Trump Tower used illegal laborer a and lied about it. Big Deal. How many people that hire businesses that do work for them know that everyone of the subcontractors employees are legal? The business can ask the question of the subcontractor but if they lie one will not know.

As for the use of HB2 visa holders that at least is a legal process. In the case of Rubio and Cruz they have never created non-government jobs so they have no clue about business operations.

The 6% of American applicants he hired was more jobs to Americans than Cruz or Rubio hired.

Those foreign workers were here legally. No, I don’t like that it’s the law any more than you do but it’s still the law. He’s a businessman who answers to stock holders.

Sure, he’s nails on a chalkboard and we’ll have many cringe moments with him but America is a business and he knows business. I refuse to vote for the anchor baby or the recent Canadian. If those two support the Constitution as much as they claim, they should never have entered a race for an office they aren’t eligible to hold.
