I had a Plymouth similar to the one pictured. Chrysler claimed to have skipped two years of planned designs and introduced the 1958 models with advertising that said, “Suddenly, it’s 1960!” I was just a couple years behind the kids in these photos, so the scenario brings back lots of memories.

Odd how old photos make young people look so adult. Nowadays, they just look like perpetual twerps.

Sigh!

You didn’t need a Suburban or full size van when you can fit 13 people in a Ford Fairlane convertible.

The fellow and his date can both exit the car on the passenger side because of full bench seats and no giant honking center console, just car and AM radio.

You don’t have to worry about bare bodies popping up on the screen at the movie you are viewing together in public.

These were better, better times for nearly all.
