What Was Ted Cruz Trying To Accomplish By Confronting Trump Supporters?

Posted on 05/02/2016 10:39:13 PM PDT by GLDNGUN

Desperate men do desperate things. This was more sinister than meets the eye.

So it's the last day of Ted Cruz's last stand. He's pulling out all the stops. Glenn Beck is fasting. Rumors suggest that if Cruz doesn't pull off a win in Indiana tomorrow that he is finished. He will lose donors and supporters left and right if he stays in beyond Indiana despite losing. The Carly VP announcement was a flop. So, this is it. Ted needed something BIG. A game changer. A Hail Mary. So he wastes his time going over to confront a few Trump supporters? Why in the world would he do that?

Keep in mind that Cruz doesn't brush his teeth without it being a political calculation. EVERYTHING he does is meant to be to his political advantage, so what could he hope to accomplish here by speaking with these Trump supporters, especially at the 11th hour when he needs something HUGE to turn the tide?

Did he think he was going to persuade them to dump Trump and vote for him? Of course not. Cruz isn't stupid. Not that stupid.

Also remember that Cruz believes that Trump supporters are "low information" thugs. He hates them. They are beneath him. So why engage and confront people you believe and proclaim to be stupid bullies?

Ask yourself, what would you risk if you confronted such brutes, especially if you are a smarmy, little punk like Ted Cruz? He doesn't exactly strike fear in anyone with his physical presence or demeanor.

Think about it - wouldn't you be risking a physical confrontation, or at least a very nasty verbal confrontation? So why would a smart guy like Ted Cruz want to confront these Trumpkin bullies and risk that...unless...wait for it...that is EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTED TO HAPPEN.

Cruz was HOPING, WISHING, PRAYING they would attack and abuse him, either verbally, or better yet, physically. That was the "game changer" he was looking for. That would devour the rest of the news cycle leading up to the vote tomorrow, while a bloodied Cruz talked about the "evil" Trump and his "evil" supporters. Vote for Trump and you are voting for these "evil" criminals! Only it didn't happen. Not even a naughty word was thrown his way. Sorry, Ted. FAIL.

If there is any doubt that violence was on Ted's mind, just read his quote during the confrontation:

“If I were Donald Trump, I wouldn’t have come over and talked to you. You know what I would have done? I would have told the folks over there, ‘Go over and punch those guys in the face.’ That’s what Donald does to protesters.”

And that's what Ted Cruz was hoping would happen to him. He planted the seed but it just wouldn't take root. The Trump supporters didn't take the bait. Hmm, Ted, maybe they aren't just a bunch of stupid bullies after all.

He wanted them to viciously attack him and blame Trump or as part of Ted being Crucified like Jesus.

Which I think explains why the 6 foot 4 Glenn Beck didn’t do anything when his wife was attacked by Occupy thugs.

Cruz had TV cameras with him and I think he just wanted to “shine.”

He tried his level best to appear to talk (courteously lecture) to the COLLEGE AGE Trump supporter, but Cruz was playing to the camera and a much larger audience.

And it worked. Shepard Smith played the entire 7 minutes.

Did he really say that?? If so the guy is just whacko!

Cruz is sinking lower and lower on the credibility scale.

He is proving that he is not presidential material.

If he had taken the high road, the honorable road, and withdrawn from the race, endorsing Trump, he would still have assured himself a bright future.

As it is, I don’t see anyone ever trusting him with anything.

A more benign explanation is that perhaps he was just hoping to better understand the psychology of Trump supporters—the people who just won’t come around to him and have effectively ended his bid for nomination.

Then again, I guess if he’s Aspergers as some have claimed, he probably wouldn’t have much interest in others’ minds.

Cruz us missing so many chances to turn this race into a force for good, not as a tool of sabotage. He just can’t help himself. Forgotten how to take the high road, it looks to me.

Most people would say Glenn Beck might benefit by fasting a little while.

LOL! You’re gonna make Mr. Beck start bawling (again).
“The Second Graders used to call me ‘Fatty-fatty two by four, can’t get through the bathroom door! Then I would ‘run’ all the way home!”

Cruz lied again. Trump didn’t tell his supporters to punch protesters. Unlike Cruz who told his supporters to spank people who are rude to him

I think he is genuinely upset that what he felt was rightfully his is being taken away.

Once I came to this conclusion many of his statements and actions made a lot more sense.
