I love big ships, but this is approaching ridiculous. And frankly, I think the cruise industry has jumped the shark. I suspect the magnates are banking on a lot of retirees having leisure time and discretionary income so they can take that cruise they've always put off. But with the economy in the tank, that may be a risky bet.

With the deaths, diseases, and disasters that have plagued the industry in recent years, along with the threat of terrorism aboard a confined -- and highly vulnerable space -- I would think twice about booking a cruise.

But I've already been on a couple, so the novelty is gone.

[But I’ve already been on a couple, so the novelty is gone.]

Been there, done that, never again.

I haven’t been on any and the novelty is already gone.

My wife and I are leaving from New Orleans on Sunday for our tenth-anniversary cruise...Cozumel, Belize and Honduras...I have been wondering what kind of security it has...pray for us!

The cruise lines like these huge ships because they require the same amount of ship’s crew (which is separate from the hotel crew) as a smaller ship and the public is foolish enough to pay a premium to go on these ships with smaller cabins and then to pay yet another premium for vanishingly small balconies.

Not going, thank you.
