Fact. The first kids to act out in any class I've been in are black kids 99% of the time.
The 2 kids who brandished the meter sticks around my face and the kid who disconnected the phone when I attempted to call the dean--black.
The first kids in any class who start fighting, girls included--black.

Maybe it’s time for you to leave, or retire if you can. Those in control don’t want it things to get better. Very likely the opposite is true.
In terms of discipline, insane political correctness ties your hands, I’m sure.
They’re more feral animals than human beings. Refer to the black female who testified for the prosecution at the Zimmerman trial — she couldn’t form a complete, intelligible sentence. That’s commonplace in the black ghetto.

A 4-inch what? Could that possibly be a straight razor? Where would a kid in NYC get a straight razor? Where would a kid in NYC get a meat cleaver? Who keeps a meat cleaver around these days except a butcher or restaurant or maybe a hunter?
I assume that the students who waved the meter sticks were suspended/expelled for both your and the other students’ safety. Oops, upon reading the article I see that punishing students for this kind of behavior is limited to their being issued a discipline card. I can’t see the point of trying to teach in that kind of environment. I know that some and hopefully most of your students want a good education, but how they can receive one while the ferals are running the show is beyond me.

Are you kidding? One of the deans later said to me, "These kids are from southeast Queens (mostly black/ghetto). Maybe you can't handle those kind of kids."
Maybe I shouldn't HAVE to. The school is racing away from even any pretense of discipline or safety. The very next day, at a union meeting, the chapter leader heard several teachers complain about the lack of discipline, the rise of serious incidents, the plummet of school tone. So I know it wasn't just me.
I doubt the chapter leader gives a rat’s azz about the discipline/violence problem. Certainly he/she won’t take the necessary steps to address it. And it’ll likely only get worse. Get out while (or if) you can.
This isn’t just happening in NYC schools, it’s all across our country. Most teachers I know will not teach in city schools because all rules are discarded in favor of the student. Had a friend teach in a Nashville city school say that they HAD to pass all students regardless of the fact that no work had been done by the student during the year. These were rules enacted at the request of the Supervisor and Principal.
He then moved to Orlando, Florida and the same deterioration of the schools was beginning to happen there. All the teachers were told that nothing that happened in the school could be reported outside of the school and that included what was being taught in the classroom. The teachers were closely monitored to be sure this rule was enforced and would be fired immediately if they spoke to parents about the conditions or teaching in the school.
Now he is teaching in NY State.
If the white kids remaining in those schools are smart they are seriously weighing the chances of being caught with an effective weapon against the chances of being maimed or killed without the means of defense by their otherly racial peers. Some will make the wrong bet.

My wife always said she did not want to retire from being a teacher and in this small southern city much of that anarchic horror has not yet descended but it is creeping in all the same and she is retiring this year. She says she doesn’t want to see the changes she knows are coming next term and it is time to switch to tutoring kids whose parents actually want them to learn something useful in real life.
