Yes, she was brave. However, now she is spoiling the value of her deed by seeking compensation for her alleged PTSD. (Admittedly I am guessing as to her seeking compensation but I think I am correct.)

Gotta love that "free" health care fat boy Michael "two dinners" Moore is so fond of.

“I recently lost three stone and have a list of medication as longer than my arm...

I think I see the problem.

It's so much easier for the government medical establishment to turn a person into a revenue stream for the pharmaceutical industry than be bothered with them.

This would be a case where the Queen should quietly intervene.

Take self-defense training.
Armed and unarmed.

It may sound odd to take the training AFTER the ordeal, but it will help validate her actions and minimize the fear of new encounters.

I recommend the training for everybody.

Ah The British:
From ‘never in the history of mankind have so many owed so much to so few’ to “Never in the history of mankind have so many been cowed by so few”. In less than a single century.
Poor old Winston, I imagine it is very hard for a man of his girth to turn over in his grave.

her alleged PTSD

To slowly descend into the depths of hell, with your buddies, some who are old hands... vs... exiting a bus in the real world into the seventh ring of hell; alone and unarmed.

Unlike on TV, this a transition that destroys, some never come back to the real world.

I have personally seen a simple rear end fender benders result in PTSD claims. Scratch a PTSD claim and there will be compensation lurking in the background. (please I am sophisticated enough to recognize there are PTSD claims that are based upon real events. However, reality based claims are rare.)

Every combat vet has buddies who survived but never quite came home. But PTSD is now being worn like the neck brace recommended by your ambulance chasing lawyer by a lot of people. PTSD is not an automatic nor universal result of experiencing something unexpectedly exciting or hazardous.

I have known many people who do well in crisis situations but would be considered failures by most others at daily living. But we do know people living in England under socialized medicine. It is a farce and you are correct; they will prescribe all sorts of medications with no real follow up. And nearly all medicines have negative side effects especially when combined with numerous other meds. The healthiest people we know all avoid seeking medical attention except for real problems. IN England however it can take years to be seen by a doctor for anything.

The reaction of men to combat varies. Some men appear to like combat-(the natural warrior, a modern Achilles?)-note there are a number of men who volunteer to go back into combat when their first turn is finished.

I am simply doubtful of the reality of the vast number of PTSD claims-especially when compensation is being sought. Look how vague and objectively unverifiable the "symptoms" are.

Very brave then. But that moment should not entitle her to money or much else. She trashed her good reputation. That’s what friends are for.

Maybe some of her PTSD is from coming face to face with Mohammadan murderers in the broad daylight of a London street, and being involved in the media frenzy afterward, and now, nothing has changed on those streets. London even elected a Mohammadan who tries to put a respectable face on other Mohammadan murderers. Show some compassion to her.

Unarmed self defense training is all she can do. This is Britain, after all.

Even if she had had a gun that day and shot the monster who killed Drummer Rigby, she would have been arrested & tried on several charges, including assaulting a Muslim.

I wish journalists would learn that “heroics” is NOT a synonym for “heroism.”

My dad was a WWII Army Infantry combat veteran. Shell-
shocked all to h-e-double hockey sticks. Got up after the
war & got on with it the best he could. Nerves shot. - It
took me a long time to understand it. As Churchill once
said, “Never, never, never, never, never, never give up!”
