Burt Kwouk, who played martial arts expert Cato in the comic Pink Panther films, has died. He was 85.
Kwouks agent, Jean Diamond, said in a statement that he passed peacefully on Tuesday. She didnt give a cause of death.
Born in northwest England and raised in Shanghai, Kwouk had his breakthrough film role in The Inn of the Sixth Happiness in 1958, and appeared in the James Bond films Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice.

I Saw A Shot in the Dark and The Pink Panther in the theater as a double feature when I was a kid. I remember thinking that maybe if I moved up to the balcony during the nudist colony scene, I could look down and see Elke Sommer’s barely hidden boobs.

It was very odd to hear his British accent after so many years of hearing him as Cato, or in the Bond Movies.
