AS cases of meningitis, a rare and potentially fatal disease, popped up in cities nationwide over the past several years, public health officials noticed a trend: many of those infected were gay men.
There’s no known medical reason why meningitis, which is transmitted through saliva, would spread more among gay and bisexual men. Yet New York, Chicago and now Southern California have experienced outbreaks disproportionately affecting that population.
“It is perplexing,” said Dr. Rachel Civen, a medical epidemiologist at L.A. County’s Department of Public Health.
Of the 13 cases of meningitis this year in L.A. County — excluding Long Beach, which has its own health department — seven were gay men. There were only 12 meningitis cases in the county in all of 2015, one of which was a gay or bisexual man.

Promiscuous homosexual behavior spreads disease. We all hear about AIDS and HIV, but there are other diseases rampant among promiscuous homosexual men.
Sadly, the voluntary behaviors engaged in by the gay men are ideal vectors for spreading various illnesses.
I suppose it would be discriminatory to note their extreme promiscuity.

Very interesting. A very close friend of mine, a Londoner, and a gay man, died of meningitis several years ago to my heart’s despair. I attributed it to his swimming in pools for exercise. Pools have sometimes been linked to meningitis or so I’ve read. He died a very bad death, may God rest his soul. Perhaps, yet again, I’ve been naïve about gay men’s life styles...

Yes, its just a real puzzle. Absolutely no idea how this disease is spreading. No doubt has something to do with long-standing hetero-normative stigmatizing and marginalizing of LGBTQ people.

While I have been active for many years on many anti-gay lifestyle threads here (just check out my posts on Milo Yiannopolis! which has caused major uproars among his FR supporters), I still find I’m naïve on the gay lifestyle. That after working at Studio 54 and several gay bars as a youth...

Compromised immune systems?
Well, let me boil it down. Having asked questions of many homosexuals, (now most of them dead)
Most have shrinks, many deliberately spread “the bug” (AIDS) and wear it like a badge of honor, and many have had thousands of “parners”.
They have “chicken hawks”....pros who recruit vulnerable young boys to replenish their ranks. (NAMBLA, “Get ‘em by eight, before it’s too late”)
The Cliff’s Notes description being:

There’s no known medical reason why meningitis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV, HPV, TB, genital herpes, syphilis, hepatitis B, shigellosis, salmonellosis, giardiasis, pinworm, amebiasis, Cytomegalovirus, Candidiasis, Cryptococcal meningitis, Toxoplasmosis, Cryptosporidiosis, and all the others would spread more among gay and bisexual men. No reason except that a high proportion of men who have sex with men do unnatural things with large numbers of disease-ridden total strangers. And medical professionals cannot comment on that because telling the truth might make them lose their funding, so they pretend to be confused about the cause.
