They don’t seem to understand that the loss of attendance, viewership and ad revenue will affect their own pockets. I already don’t watch much NFL outside of the playoffs unless the Panthers are doing well. If this spreads, I’ll watch even less.

They apparently have no idea what a spontaneous fan revolt will do to their game. I will not sit through a game after my Country and I are insulted by ungrateful millionaires. And, if the NFL goes wobbly and does the Star Spangled Banner in advance of the player intro, they will have caved, and this veteran will find other activities.

Exactly correct.

One of the few reasons I ever watch football is basically it’s always been non-political.

If they (or the media) want to destroy it, then make it political.
