U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer says inward-facing cameras should be installed on all New York City metropolitan area railroad systems to avoid accidents such as the recent New Jersey Transit crash.
The New York Democrat says cameras will help deter bad behavior, improve safety and help investigators determine crash causes.

How are CAMERAS going to help? Why not install those KILL SWITCHES that were supposed to be installed ages ago?
Or, maybe they’re hoping for more video of Trump doing something outrageous on the subway? *SNORT*
When do we taxpayers get to place cameras in the offices of the politicians who work for us?
Why not just pet thm in every house too while they’re at it?
There are already millions of cameras. Just ell everybody to take selfies.
1984, Eric Blair, telescreens.
They have to be hidden ones because those crafty liars are professional liars and deceivers.
When they stop persecuting whistleblowers like James O’Keefe.
P2 wants 24/7 web casting of video and audio of Schmuckie.
Does “1984” come to mind, anyone?
Why? He doesn’t ride them and cameras can’t stop a damn thing and half the time can’t help solve what has taken place. More of the liberal “well make you feel safe because government is your daddy”
Yeah, that's makes sense - to an effing elite who never rides a train...
Consider that low-information Schumer is an excellent example why the ill-conceived 17th Amendment should never have been ratified. After all, not only does the Senate not have the constitutional authority to appropriate revenues (1.7.1) which Schumer is essentially doing, but consider the following.
The feds have no constitutional authority to regulate, tax and spend for things like Schumer's proposed train cameras.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
Corrections, insights welcome.
So Sen. Schumers camera proposal is another example of the corrupt federal government attempting to expand is constitutionally limited powers outside the framework of the Constitution.
In fact, note that both James Madison and Thomas Jefferson had warned patriots to be on their guard for the feds unconstitutionally expanding their powers in small steps.
I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. James Madison, Speech at the Virginia Convention to ratify the Federal Constitution (1788-06-06)
To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power, no longer susceptible of any definition. Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson's Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank : 1791
The system of the General Government is to seize all doubtful ground. We must join in the scramble, or get nothing. Where first occupancy is to give right, he who lies still loses all. Thomas Jefferson to James Monroe, 1797.
Remember in November !
Patriots need to support Trump / Pence by also electing a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will not only work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support Trumps vision for making America great again for everybody, but will also put a stop to unconstitutonal federal taxes and likewise unconstitutional inteference in state affairs as evidenced by Sen. Schumers proposed train cameras.
Note that such a Congress will also probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.
They are always looking for another way to watch you.
Chucky is an a**hat, but it sounds like he’s proposing cameras for the train cabs, not the passenger compartments. It’s not a bad idea, but the unions will never allow it.
This DIM asshat wants up-skirt cameras probably.
That’s true; he prefers the plane from NYC to DC and not Amtrak, while talking up Amtrak. And his behavior towards airline stewardesses is vile, compared to what the left is currently trying to hype w.r.t. Trump.
