JESUS IS YOUR QUALIFICATION FOR GOD’S BLESSINGS

Deuteronomy 28:2 "And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you…"

God loves to bless you. He has even declared that “blessings shall come upon you and overtake you”. This means that you can’t run fast enough to escape them! When you turn one corner, there is a blessing waiting for you. When you turn another corner, you run smack into another blessing!

Now, you may think that you don’t qualify for God’s blessings because of the preceding verse which says that these blessings will come to pass only if you diligently obey God’s voice and keep all of His commandments. You know that no matter how hard you try, you just cannot keep all of God’s commandments. In fact, the Bible says that if you fail to keep just one commandment, you fail to keep all. (James 2:10)

My friend, I have good news for you: Jesus is the one who qualifies us for every single blessing because He has kept all of God’s commandments. When He died for us on the cross, He not only fulfilled all of God’s commandments, He also redeemed us from the curse of the law. (Galatians 3:13) Note that He did not redeem us from the blessings of the law, so the blessings are still ours today!

As you read the list of blessings in Deuteronomy 28, starting with “Blessed shall you be in the city…in the country…the fruit of your body…your basket…when you come in…when you go out…” (Deuteronomy 28:3–13), I believe that Jesus is saying to you, “Like the blessings? Then take them by faith!”

You may say, “But I don’t deserve them.” Yes, you don’t deserve them, but you still get them because of Jesus. That is God’s grace! The law says, “You must deserve the blessings.” But the law is no longer here. Grace is here. So take the blessings by grace through faith. Believe God for the blessings.

Today, it is no longer a question of how much or how well you have kept God’s commandments. It is a question of how much you can believe God for His blessings. All the promises of God in Christ are “Yes”, and because you are in Christ, you can say “Amen!” to His blessings! (2 Corinthians 1:20)

Thought For The Day

Jesus is the one who qualifies us for every single blessing because He has kept all of God’s commandments.

Joseph Prince is a Word of Faith false teacher who teaches the gospel of greed. He doesn’t understand the biblical way of salvation. He has some truth in his teaching, but it’s full of damning leaven.

Yes, we have been redeemed from the curse of the law, just as the New Testament says.

Joseph Prince speaks the truth.

Amen. The truth that is in Christ and in the gospel of the grace of Christ by which we stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has set us free.

No, YOU explain why “Jesus is the one who qualifies us” is “heresy”.

define the term
“qualifies us”

as opposed to
“redeems us”

Contrast and compare, amigo.

No, YOU explain your flat-out assertion. Show that you’re more than just a sniper hiding somewhere on the roof. Show you actually have something more to offer than sniper pot-shots.

So if I just truly believe in Christ and have become completely “under Grace”, I can steal, murder, fornicate, do some good deeds now and then to look legit, put myself before anyone else etc... due to the fact that I am too weak to adhere to God's Laws? What difference does it make if I break one law or 20-30 laws at will? After breaking the sin one would just ask for forgiveness and go right back to sinning. Does Grace abound or should Grace tell you to stop? This would require more "things".

Anyway, one would be a Übermensch based on this concept because nihilism (2nd life/Spiritual would overcome nihilism "itself") would pervert Grace due to peddlers like Prince pushing no responsibilities/”wide paths” that lead to destruction/avoidance to God's Will. There is Grace, but also something else to adhere to (Actually two). A lot of Christian Churches have neglected this something else in exchange for "feel good" sophistries for decades.

Yeah...OK. I have very little to complain about with Rollo’s post #12.

You provide the concept of ^subjective^ justification. I provide Objective justification.

Where do YOU stand? Did Christ die for your sins or do you subjectively (feelings) believe that Christ redeemed you by His death?

So far, you show yourself to be a sniper - a guy taking shots at what others say without offering any affirmative and supporting rationale your position. Quit wasting my time if you’re not going to give a reasonable explanation and argument for your assertion that “Jesus is the one who qualifies us” is “heresy” contrary to my post.

Yes, despite the possibility that somehow you don’t like it (many don’t because the grace of Christ can be hard to understand or too good to be true), the Bible clearly says that Jesus died for ALL of your sins and the sins of the whole world 2000 years ago.

“He himself [Jesus Christ] is the sacrificial atonement for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world” 1 John 2:2.

The law was never meant to be kept but to show man his utter inability to be righteous and his need for Christ. The law actually helps you to sin, not because there’s anything wrong with the law, but because there’s everything wrong with us to keep it.

“The strength of sin is the law” 1 Cor 15:56.

“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith” Gal 3:24.

“But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe” Rom 3:21-22.

Your question/statement is exactly what the legalistic Jews challenged Paul with, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?” Rom 6:1.

Paul answered with, “God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” Rom 6:2.

Paul then makes a startling statement, life changing if you let these words from scripture sink deep down into your heart, “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace” Rom 6:14.

The gospel of the grace of Christ as expressed here in Romans doesn’t say that you must keep the law in order to not sin. Scripture here is saying basically that it is grace, not the law, that frees you from sin.

Grace with positive “fruit”. Matthew 7: 13-28.

Also what did Christ directly commands us to DO that summed up the whole Law?

Are you saying Christ practice in legalism? This was a direct command. Again you are promoting sophistry.

Hard to make sense out of your rambling reply but exactly how do you figure I am promoting sophistry?
