We have some great news to report for old school fans of Gold Rush as former star Dakota Fred Hurt has married Jennifer Sheets, his Executive Assistant and cook for his mining crew!
In attendance at the wedding was fellow Gold Rush star Tony Beets and his wife Minnie Beets.

Dakota Fred and son Dustin Hurt announced back in February that they were looking for crew members to run “a swift water suction dredge gold mine high up in the mountains of S E Alaska,” and the job posting included the sentence: “You will also need to be happy with being filmed at work as part of a BRAND NEW gold mining TV SHOW for a major cable network.”

You did great with your “pings”. Thanks. Mr. RR and I went to our annual Black Hills Gold Prospector meeting last night. We had about 150 prospectors attend. Great meal provided by the Shrine Club. Tons of prizes awarded donated by local vendors and some from Felix Gold in Alaska. I got lucky and won a third ounce nugget.

I remember from watching previous seasons, that Hurt’s wife was ill. From doing an online search I found that she had died in February of 2015. I didn’t care much for him when he was on the show. And although Todd is a dumbass (does he ever do any work?), didn’t Fred sneakily take Todd’s claim away from him?

Absolutely correct! I like Dustin though. He must have taken after his mom. Who died, by the way.
Yeah he stole the Hoffman’s claim from them the first year. Interestingly, Parker Schnabel’s (SP?) owned it. Fred went crying to the old man and talked him into kicking the Hoffmans off. Probably one reason why crybaby Todd is always badmouthing Parker behind his back.
Like most “reality” shows, this one is also a total fake. Maybe not as bad as the storage locker show with the planted valuables, or the picker show, where they brag about how they cheated some sucker out of his junk (and the little fat guy gets mad if the suckers won’t take the pittance he offers and trashes them behind their backs), but they’re all fake as hell. And I still watch them when I can’t find a better show. I have been watching a lot of old TV shows and movies on YouTube lately, though.
