Get a phone that doesn’t allow internet or texts. Turn off the computer and the bully goes away.

So so sad. Poor child, and now her parents/family have to live with that image. Prayers to them.

Really sad story, to have your child shoot herself in front of parents and grandparents. Prayers for sure.

Do you get your friends from the internet? That’s lame.

And if you don't have more friends, aka strangers, than Kaneesha and Amber and Tiffany, you're just nobody.

If a child is being cyberbullied, you’ve got to change their phone number, allow them to use it for family only, and keep them offline.

If you have a mentally disturbed child, you’ve got to lock your guns.

Not to mention that for girls it is even non-punchable. This anonymous app and whoever created her fake FB account was unknown to her. Who does she punch out?
And with girls, think if its your daughter or sister and as she walks through school everyone is laughing about the gang bang she gave the football team last week.
And she isn’t that way at all.

I think face to face bullying is much less stressful.

““I can’t help but wonder why they didn’t all just unplug and get off the facebook stuff and just live their lives””

That’s nice. But it doesn’t help a bit. She walks through the school and everyone is swapping BS rumors about how she’s a whore, screwed a teacher for a grade, got an abortion, has sex with a sibling or dad maybe, etc.
Her unplugging wont make her any less attacked and knowing it.

“Pull. The. Plug.”

Xactly. When the internet was first invented, my kid was targeted. It’s all about the pecking order, going after whoever is perceived as weak. He could have simply joined the bullies to target other kids, then he would have been on the “cool” side.
Neither option is acceptable in my family. I just shut it down.
When one of the bullies started harassing him at school, I told him, deal with it, but you get one chance. Make it stick.
So when the bully called him a little chicken sh!t, my son cold cocked him. Kapow, on the ground. Got a 3 day suspension, but boy was I proud.
He had no problems after that.

As you see, I’m not the only one who thought it was as simple as going off social media.

But also note the many other replies that tell us it’s not as simple as that. Some poor kid who’s not on Face Book still has to deal with everyone else at school who is.

But I do believe social media is damaging our kids. They sit around all day texting, Pinteresting, Skyping, Snap Chatting, Instagramming, etc. and they never even talk to one another.

They really should call this stuff ANTI Social Media.

And this anti social behavior is destructive. Case in point is this poor kid who killed herself.
