General Motors was under fire this weekend after a casting call for Cadillac sought members of the controversial alt-right movement.
According to an image of the casting call posted by the news agency Reuters and many, many others, the notice said an agency filming the ad was looking for "any and all real alt-right thinkers/believers."
"This is a beautifully artistic spot that is capturing all walks of life of America," the casting call says, adding that it would be filmed later this month. "Standing together as a union. This is not meant to be offensive in anyway. Just a representation of all sides. Thank you."
The alt-right, or alternative right, is an extremist movement that seeks a whites-only state.

The convolution is hilarious. GM can’t be inclusive of a group disparaged by the media and the left for political reasons because, well, we say so and we own you, GM. So there.

Was this ad campaign to promote the importing of POS Cadillacs made in China? They already announced that they’re importing Buicks from China. Shudder to think what chemicals and toxins may be lurking in them. Remember the lead paint on toys, and the polluted drywall from China?
Cadillac hatin’ on it’s customers.
No longer, but the Government Motors name will last much longer than the period of government ownership, especially when you consider that Ford didn’t need a bailout.
GM is grateful for having been saved, but the government lost about $10 billion on the deal.

If GM, through their Cadillac division, is interested in acting as a propaganda arm of the government, that could be considered a payback of sorts, and a whiff of fascism.
As always, when something like this comes to light, the apology is not for doing it, it is for getting caught.

The GM ad folks are still reeling from the leftist blowback ... how dare we tout American exceptionalism? How dare we brag about our accomplishments?
I’m sure that the Caddy ad people are keeping this in mind as they try to cast their every commercial. Of course apologizing ahead of time for making a commercial simply gives the leftists more time to bitch.

I am not even sure what they thought they were looking for. Other than they are White and tend to be younger, alt-right Americans would be unrecognizable from others.
Perhaps they should have asked for young nicely presented White men (undercut style haircut optional but preferred). Maybe they could just specify a MAGA hat or Pepe the Frog t-shirt.
