“And that woman wearing pajamas. What is it with people?”

Oh that’s the new fashion. You see it at schools, college, grocery store, mall, soccer moms. Don’t ask me why.

These are the guys that come out and go to another state to assist in repairing service devastated by, I don't know ... hurricane Sandy in New Jersey ?

The public can, and does, demand repairs right now ... and the utilities try to accomodate the public's demand.

EVERYONE here (with a couple of exceptions) are DEMANDING RIGHT NOW...

HANG THOSE FRIKKIN' WORKERS FROM THE NEAREST YARDARM!

You're all no different than the public they are trying to serve.

Given the time that elapsed, any one of those drivers or the Comcast workers could have called police to flag traffic at the crest of the hill behind them, or gone and done so themselves. The Comcast guys were jerks, it was clear that there was a problem above and beyond their “rules.” Blocking a lane on the backside of a blind hill on an icy, snowy road was a recipe for disaster and they’re lucky no one was seriously injured or killed. This repair work could have waited until the road was cleared and treated.

If it was so bad how did the Comcast guys get there?

I am doubling down. You are a jerk.

1st accident... forgivable. 2nd they are stupid. Anything after that is criminal negligence.

I’m a little skeptical only because this makes it seem as if Comcast actually had crews out working on customer issues

The feeling I get when I see teenage boys with their pants halfway down he crack of their rear...it was the same feeling looking at that woman wearing pajamas.

When I mentioned it to my brother, he verbally poked me and said if I live long enough, that will be what everyone wears, even to the office.

A driver that runs into a parked vehicle is responsible for the accident.

The charge is “driving too fast for conditions”.

If there’s an accident and a child is killed or paralyzed, I am confident that a good attorney could take that video and prove that it’s not as simple as you make it sound. There were people pointing out the danger to these employees. They failed to respond.

The guy who posted the video says he called the police immediately after the first slide and they were called again after the collision.

Oh dude, I’m sure the people involved in these wrecks already have lawyers. It’s a done deal.

Drivers are sliding off the road because they were going too fast on an icy road and/or tailgating. End of discussion.

...and anyone that approaches the workers with camera in hand is looking for trouble first, solutions second. Go to them man to man and speak reasonable with no camera and I’m guessing those workers would have been more accommodating.

Then, taking matters into their own hands, to protect their property stuck in the ditch if for no other reason, the mouthiest one recording the video should have walked back over the crest of the hill and waved down oncoming traffic. The last three impacts would have been avoided if he had done so.

The Comcast guys were jerks and blocked the lane in a very poor traction situation, where oncoming traffic could not see them and slow in a sufficient amount of time. They are responsible, however it’s not as if they were all forced to helplessly sit there watching cars crest the hill and go out of control.

The drivers ... I agree

That slick road did not JUST happen, nor was it in that ONE SPOT ... every driver knew about the road condition at least 15 minutes ago and 5 miles ago

All this anger directed to one spot on a road that should have warned the drivers 5 mi and 15 minutes ago ... slow the hell down.

As a truck driver, I have the prerogative to refuse unsafe loads and refuse to drive in unsafe conditions and there's not a damned thing the company can do about it and we professionals listen to our inner driver.

Concur with your assessment, bramps.
The whole "camera-in-hand" posture leads me to believe he was seeking an argument as the foremost objective.
Most benevolent people would be calling 9-1-1 to secure help from the police and fire department.

Those comcast guys lacked that “inner driver” quality. They were criminally negligent.

Hats off to you for not having 3 points and you are fired for 4. There are several employers that run the point system down there. Being late is a point.

On top of that weather forecasts had not predicted this. There was no precipitation in the forecast. People had no idea they had to get up early.

Bottom line, comcast is liable in a big way. You can not shut down a 2 lane road without flaggers.

In my subdivision (Same legal jurisdiction) where during the day there may be 1 car every half an hour when they were repaving it this fall, flaggers. 100% of the time. Easy to get 3 cars abreast here too. It is the law here.
