How does someone wake up and decide to get a degree in Finance?

The enjoyment of playing with numbers?

Or they want to tell the world they care about money more than anything else?

Definitely. Most businesses rely on IT so as businesses do better then one would expect more IT jobs. Maybe insource some of those jobs lost to India? Trump’s bully pulpit might help with that. We’ll see.

Indexed by cost of living 100k per year in NYC is about the same as 50k in Utah. I’ll take “a place where we don’t have to carry mace and lock our doors for 50k, Alex.”

Be careful working for Financial companies. The salaries are the highest of all industries and the bonuses are outrageous during good times.

However, when bad times come, they are quick to close whole departments down and layoff thousands.
