Flynn out at NSA, Petraeus could be all in

Petraeus would be a disaster — a stalwart of the old establishment in an administration that said it would “drain the swamp.”

In May 2016, he published what was essentially an anti Trump screed, saying that proposals to restrict immigration from Muslim countries that are hotspots of jihad terror shouldn’t even be made, so as to avoid offending Muslims.

He was in favor of using al Qaeda jihadis to defeat the Islamic State, which would give us a region full of al-Qaeda jihadis with American weapons and materiel who hate the United States and want to destroy it. (This is essentially what we have now in Syria, where Obama armed “moderates” who were really al-Qaeda jihadis.)

When he headed up the international coalition in Afghanistan, he said that Florida pastor Terry Jones’ plan to burn the Qur’an was “hateful, it was intolerant and it was extremely disrespectful and again, we condemn it in the strongest manner possible.

I wish he’d consider KT McFarland for that position. Petraeus has too much baggage although he’d do a good job. He’d be a target for the left and would be a distraction.

Petreus is a good tactician but a crappy strategist.

He is good at solving short term problems expediently but he lacks long term vision and an ability to predict “unforeseen consequences” — which is the standard excuse used by those who lack long term vision.

Trump also accused previous administrations for ethical lapses it’s only right that he doesn’t tolerate screw-ups from his subordinates. In case no one noticed Trump changes subordinates like he changes his shoes. No big deal.

NEOCONS are behind anti-Trump leaks.

“Early in this race, Donald Trump laid down a marker on foreign policy against the Iraq War and foreign adventurism in general, and a lot of the neocons in Washington didn’t like it—at all. And still don’t like it.

Laura Ingraham

Former Reagan and Bush official Elliott Abrams is deeply upset with White House senior aide Steve Bannon, after he was passed over for a job in Donald Trump’s administration.

Abrams was rumored to join the State Department as a deputy to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, but was ultimately rejected.

“The only person on the White House staff that I know was opposed to my being hired was Steve Bannon so that’s my guess,” Abrams told CNN’s Erin Burnett in an interview on Monday. “It’s a guess.”

Abrams didn’t mention that Sen. Rand Paul was opposed to his appointment, because of his NEOCON views.

“In a country of 300 million people, surely there are reasonable foreign policy experts who have not been convicted of deceiving Congress and actually share the President’s foreign policy views,” Paul wrote in an op-ed.

Abrams also ignored his role in the Iran-Contra scandal under Reagan, pleading guilty to misdemeanors in the scandal. George H.W. Bush pardoned Abrams at the end of his administration. He also didn’t mention his dogged support for the war in Iraq, something Trump remains opposed to.

At the end, Abrams had hoped that although he criticized Trump during the election, the president would allow him to join the administration.

Abrams authored an article the Weekly Standard with the headline “When you can’t stand your candidate,” calling for the Never Trump movement to challenge him in the convention. He also described Trump as a candidate was “someone who cannot win and should not be president of the United States.”

“Do not allow the Republican convention to be a coronation wherein Trump and Trumpism are unchallenged,” he wrote.

The thing that I have noticed is this: If these people want to be part of government at some point in their lives, they have to live accordingly so as to not have either baggage or loose lips.

I would have thought that Flynn, being a General, would have known better and would have been more cautious. That's not to say he shouldn't be human, just cautious.

I think he might do another Romney. Interview Petreaus and pump him for info; ask him what he would do and who he likes.

Then do the opposite. What Trump needs is a really good pest exterminator.

Have always said that Petraeus was setup....just like in the Michael Douglas movie "Disclosure".

I'd like to know what info she did see...Did it have "Classified" stamped all over it?? or was it like Hillary's emails which went to everyone and their brother....and which we know were hacked...and they did nothing.

The CIA and FBI should have shut her down....no excuses....

Petreaus is a world class globalist. We've already got enough foxes in the hen house. No way in hell do I want to see Petreaus in any position in this administration. Never!
