There should be no more ability for companies to deduct insurance payments on behalf of their employees.

Why? Are they not paying for at least 50% of the policy cost?

I was actually kidding. But it’s certainly possible to see employment based health insurance as a non-taxed wage benefit to workers, for which employers take a deduction, and there is nothing similar on the individual side, an asymmetry that the Ryan proposal does address.
