This makes me feel uneasy. If someone prominent in the church counselled with me and lead me to Christ, I feel like that is private and they shouldn’t be telling people, like it’s a feather in their cap. I liken it to a doctor telling people he treated someone for something - it’s up to the person to discuss his or her faith if they want.
