THE saying goes that breakfast is the most important meal of the day — but apparently only if you eat the right thing.

Those hoping to hear the full English is the way forward will be sorely disappointed too.

According to William Cole, who specialises in nutrition, what we should be eating first thing is a little more unusual.

He told Mind, Body, Green that a breakfast crammed with fat is the key to maintaining energy levels throughout the day, and eating this way will make you more productive.

That has been scientifically proven to be the most accurate method of gauging the exact amount of spaghetti required.

[however, for a group of 4 or more guests, you must use a Boa instead of a Ball Python]

/noodle with noodles

Polish sausage, hot German mustard, and jalapenoes.

Every morning at work since 1978.

Protein for breakfast is the way to not hunger for hours and be focused. My husband and I tried the South Beach diet, lost 18 pounds in 6 weeks, with lots of protein, we did great, easy to stay on once the induction part is over, which is real fat restricting, unlike the Atkins diet.

Still losing, just not as fast. We did it because my husband is diabetes type 2. The diet is designed for heart and diabetes patients.

Dump the pancakes and it’s a perfect breakfast.

Dump the pancakes and it’s a perfect breakfast.

I usually substitute white toast, but on occasion I'll go for the pancakes. Now when I'm really fancy-free I'll go for waffles!

A teaspoon of butter won’t. The brain needs “fat”.

I usually start the day with a small piece of toast with a little peanut butter before Tony Horton (p90X or p90X3) and/or Shawn T (Insanity) and I get together with another buddy. Follow that up with a protein shake made of whey or occasionally some eggs and well-drained, crispy bacon, because... life is for living.

Put butter in your coffee. (True)

I put crushed red pepper in mine. Hot!

Butter in coffee extends the buzz.

I think you’re correct. When I put ice cream in my coffee it does seem buzzier.

I think Vegemite is pretty good with a fried egg.

I like Marmite as an additive to Mayo on sandwiches and such. It’s also good on garlic bread.
We can’t get Vegemite locally, only Marmite. We have a big British section at Kroger because we have so many Indian people living here. $10 for PG Tips? Nope.

Kraft makes Vegemite now. We have only a scattering of Indians in my part of the ‘burbs ... we’re too low-income and rural. Indians concentrate in the nicer areas.
