Russia and China might just take care of the NK dictator and end the escalation that is taking place.
But it is a fluid situation -- with Chinese Troops as well as Russian Military buildup on the North Korean border.

The easiest thing for China to do is replace him. Otherwise they risk the potential for unknown economic and military consequences which could be very detrimental to China’s long term interests. Not only that, China can look like the “good guy” for removing this menace from the world stage. Cooperating with the U.S. would seem to be the more pragmatic and beneficial way of resolving the NK problem on China’s own terms.
Russia and China’s intentions are as yet not completely clear. A free united Korean Peninsula will hopefully be the final outcome - then the US and the Korean people can claim victory this some now sixty five years later and honor those who sacrificed and look toward the future.
Great post. Everyone wants to rush off to war, well not personally, they pay soldiers to bleed and die on their behalf. I cannot believe the number of people getting excited about bloodshed. I challenge each of them calling for war, walk up to a military member and look them in the eye... tell them their life is worth losing for this. If you can say that individually to fifteen military members, then maybe we should think about it.
The idea of effectual sacrifice is at least as old as Christendom.
I would support an economic boycott of China (to pressure North Korea) to this end.
But giving a nut like the North Korean dictator nuclear weapons and missiles to launch them with is unacceptable.
I would hope to avoid loss of life, hitting the underground nuclear test site might be a way to do that.
The US with one bomb in Afghanistan took out almost 100 ISIS fighters after they killed one US special forces person and several Afghan soldiers.
I hope President Xi of China and President Trump can work this out peacefully.

I think it is likely that NK is diverting all fuel to military use; they have been lacking in gas/oil/petrol to supply forces since the '70s, and it has gotten worse over time. I am hopeful that Russia and China could be involved in a plan to bring an end to the regime.

We have been dealing with this since 1950 and at a stalemate since 1953 dealing with various knuckleheads in power there. Funny how 64 years is rushing it.

If you said THIS to fifteen soldiers, and were a male, you would probably get punched in the face. We are not paid mercenaries doing someones dirty work, nor are we drafted against our will. I was a soldier, spent 18 months on the DMZ in Korea. I would have paid the Army to cut us loose on the Norks back then, and I know that many of my buddies felt the same way. The military is a VOLUNTEER force; many of us actually hate communists, muzzies and other enemies of the USA and believe it is our duty as American men to destroy them to protect this country and the world from their evil. For enemies like ISIS, North Korea, or even ANTIFA and other communist insurgencies... we don't need a draft, killing these scum is a reward in itself.
