A recent Gallup poll shows that 76 percent (76%) of U.S. adults believe that God had a hand in creating man in his present form or guiding man as he developed.
According to Gallup, [t]he percentage of U.S. adults who believe that God created humans in their present form at some time within the last 10,000 years or so the strict creationist view has reached a new low. Thirty-eight percent of U.S. adults now accept creationism, while 57% believe in some form of evolution. [ ]
Today, of the U.S. adult respondents, 76 percent said they believe God had a hand in creating or guiding man, with 38 percent who said they believe that human beings developed over millions of years, but God guided this process, while another 38 percent said they believe that God created man in present form.
When the question was asked in 1982, 82 percent of U.S. adult respondents said they believe God had a hand in creating or guiding man, with 44 percent who said they believe God created man in present form, and 38 percent of U.S. adult respondents who said they believe Man developed, with God guiding.

If God did not create the Universe, He must surely have been surprised by The Big Bang.
Or He doesn’t exist.
Or He (and other gods) sprang forth from The Big Bang.
But never mind the details of that question, just act surprised that people still believe in God.
Even more surprisingly, 24% of the people think that everything happened by accident.
We have millions who subscribe to the concept of Christianity, but in practice, reject it.
For example, several of the mainline denominations (which, by definition, are not Christian to begin with) endorse, embrace and promote homosexuality from within their own ranks. When asked if Jesus is God's son, they'll affirm He is. But their doctrine, liturgy and personal lives clearly show they don't really believe.
Well it seems rather obvious doesn't it.
But what is this editorializing in the headline with the use of the word "still"?
Try to teach that in school.
Given the bombardment of materialist propaganda from every major institution for three generations, that’s a noteworthy statistic.
Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. - Holy Bible - Isaiah 64:8 (NIV)
So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him working at his wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. Then the word of the LORD came to me . . . can I not do with you as this potter does? . . . Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand. Jeremiah 18:3-6
“Has” a plan..
The other 24% are wrong. Bigly.
Must have been the Obama voters.
The real disagreement is in defining “GOD.”
My ex thought that she was god!!!
” 76 percent (76%) of U.S. adults believe that God had a hand in creating man” ....I’d sure like to know who else they thought was involved.
Nothing to do with God and everything to do with free will. Never mind the god of this age.
If pressed on the issue, I would guess we would find that 90+% actually believe themselves to be god since they ultimately live by their own dictates.
That graphic of Hillary reminds me of Eve eying the forbidden fruit and getting prepared to take a bite. In fact Hillary, unlike Eve, I think could have eaten the whole damn tree. Anyway I expect Hillary will tell you that it wasn’t her fault because that old serpent made her do it.
There is a lot to be gleaned by studying the book of Genesis explaining the creation of the heavens and earth and mankind. I expect the 24% have no idea what GOD planned for us. Such as what if Adam had not listened to Eve and had instead eaten of the tree of life which GOD had freely offered to them. Where would we be today.
But Adam screwed the pooch for us when he listened to Eve whom GOD created from Adam’s side to be his helpmate. But GOD being wiser had another plan (Jesus) to redeem us. And this is where we find ourselves today. So everyone needs to understand this and how it relates to the current world situation and get with the program.
BTW I do not believe GOD is fallible, but only man and his freewill to choose are.
The whole God thing, from the Torah thru the New Testament replete with fire and thunder and magic and prophesy would be, and really, IS the stuff of fantasy and or science fiction except that... God has Authority and that angers many people.
