Don’t Worry, America: Kid Rock Says He’s Running for Senate From Michigan

Republican rocker Robert James Ritchie (aka Kid Rock) launches website in bid to challenge Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow.

----------------------

His name is Kiiiiiiiiiiiid — err, Senator Rock? Musician Kid Rock said Wednesday that he plans to run for U.S. Senate in 2018 in his home state of Michigan. The bid was first launched as a website, kidrockforsenate.com, which the singer just validated and shared on Twitter. He also tweeted, “I will have a major announcement in the near future.”

Rock, whose birth name is Robert Ritchie, has been suggested as a possible Republican candidate to challenge Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), who was first elected in 2000.

“I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real… http://kidrockforsenate.com The answer is an absolute YES,” Rock tweeted on Wednesday. Rock’s political site also has the following rotating text block:

“Welcome to the Party”

“I’ll Rock the Party” “You Never Met a Politician Quite Like Me”

“Get in Senate and Try to Help Someone”

“In Rock We Trust”

“Pimp of the Nation”

“Born Free”

“Party to the People”

You can also buy a hat, t-shirt and bumper sticker there.

Rock, who initially supported Ben Carson in last year’s presidential race before switching his allegiance to Donald Trump, performed last August at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. In April, he also joined fellow musician Ted Nugent and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for a visit to the Trump White House, where they tweeted a shade-throwing photo of themselves in front of a portrait of former first lady Hillary Clinton.

Here is Rock’s announcement:

Wow Michigan now has produced Kid Rock and Ted Nugent. Both running for office.

Maybe there is hope for that state.

Yeah, I’m from there and I like both of them, and Tim Allen, too - another conservative.

I think Jeff Daniels is also a Michigander, but I don’t happen to know his political leanings.

🤔. Saw somewhere that Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson may run for something. Too "iffy" for me.

Let’s not forget Michael Moore is from Michigan also.

3 guys supposedly in it for the “common man” with totally different views on things.

Better then what we have but I think we can do better than that.

Of course anything that get people thinking about senate elections is a good thing. Most people just ignore them until the last minute.

He will drop out when he finds out no one takes him serious. B4 the primary. If he gets traction anything can happen. i think the rats hope he wins the primary. It will then be up to trump.

This is so true. Any exposure to the electoral processes and encouraging people to get involved while simultaneously getting rid of John McCain, Lyndsey Graham, Chuck Schumer and all the rest of the vampires of the night...

They might take him seriously.

He is well liked on the east side of the state.

Of course they like anyone who brings in jobs. And beer.

Kid Rock is what you’d find if you went searching for a Republican candidate in a trailer park dumpster. Are they going to hose him off, send him to a dentist and a barber, give him his shots, and buy him a new suit? Sorry, I don’t want my party represented by an overcompensated but otherwise talent-free entertainer who gets blowjobs backstage no matter what letter they put next to their name.

There is something sad about an aging middle-aged man who still dresses and grooms as a child, and refers to himself as “kid”.

With the Demonazis having to spend $$$ to defend 24 Senate seats in ‘18, their wallet will be stretched to the max and there may not be enough to go around. Stab-me-now may get left out in the cold enough for Kid to make a successful run at her. Any other cycle, probably not but this one - I say go for it!

"He will drop out when he finds out no one takes him serious (sic)."

People said the same thing about President Trump. How right were they?

I'm not a fan of Kid Rock's rapping and ripping off other people's music, but his pop culture appeal to Generation.commers is exactly what is needed, across the country.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

“Sorry, I don’t want my party represented by an overcompensated but otherwise talent-free entertainer who gets blowjobs backstage no matter what letter they put next to their name.”

As it is, “your” party is represented by Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, John McCain, and Lindsey Graham. (Ew, just typing their names made me wretch.)

Trump narrowly won Michigan, against all predictions. I suspect support from Kid Rock and Ted Nugent attracted enough new voters and young people to help put Trump over the top there.

Odd you should bring up blow jobs.....Stabenow's now ex husband enjoys them....But I digress.....

If Ritchie should win the primary, you're still going to vote for Stabenow?

The Democraps have their Franken so there's no reason why we shouldn't have our Ritchie........

Suck it up buttercup......Everybody laughed when Trump announced his run for the presidency..........
