Trailer to new Churchill movie. Perhaps Sir Winston can once again inspire England.
Glad to see that Gary Oldman will be playing Churchill. He is a conservative and a great actor.

I'm a huge Churchill fan and WWII history buff. This is on my must see list.
This period in the War I find fascinating. The French had collapsed, Russia was still a German ally and the U.S. was hopelessly mired in isolationism. Yet the Brits fought on, alone. It looks like there's some Hollywood in this, but according to Winston's history the War Cabinet never considered negotiations, never even discussed the idea. Amazing, considering what they were up against.
Dunkirk coming out this month, then Darkest Hour in November? I see a theme developing.

I think Churchill considered the idea that they would lose Great Britain. He was determined that they would fight on from the countries of the commonwealth.
Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, etc. along with the Navy.
It all came down to the Battle of Britain. After Dunkerque it would take months to reequip the Army and train enough new soldiers to be able to defeat the Germans on land. But, the Germans could not get an invasion force past the Royal Navy - unless they could establish air superiority over the Channel. When the Luftwaffe could not defeat the Royal Air Force, Hitler knew the jig was up and abandoned invasion plans.
Sorry to say but it will take more than a movie to save England. At the rate It is going there Won’t always be an England.
Today’s Britain has squandered their place in history by falling for the oldest trick in the book: the Trojan Horse.
What an astounding leader. He reminds me very much of our current president. In the beginning, no one took him seriously. In the end, his leadership kept England alive and free until the US entered the war. The sad part is that within 2 weeks of VE day, he was voted out of office because he hated socialism.
How far England has fallen. And they can’t get up.

Don’t forget Marshall in October.....that movie will be a great one as well. First African American on the Supreme Court and he actually did good things not like most of the Supreme Court.

He was a radical leftist in every way I can remember.
An activist leftist like Marshal would be a better justice that those Obama gave us.

Hope it will give a kick in the pants to some Americans too. After all, Winnie was half American.
