A self propelled pothole repair vehicle proposed by a Russian engineer which doesn't exist just yet. I wonder if it ever will? Doesn't look safe for passers by.
The idea of pre-formed patch-plugs is neat.
I like it. Why not? Instead of having a team of people manually doing a crappy job that needs to be redone again, while 2/3 of them are simple onlookers, while a policeman padding his income with traffic duty oversees the entire thing, have one person accompany the truck.
RUSSIAN COLUSIONIST! </sarc>
Interesting concept.
The unions ain’t gonna like it..
I remember seeing this massive highway repair machine that does everything. Tears and rips up the asphalt in front, mixes and I guess cleans it, mixes in new asphalt, then lays it down towards the back of the machine. A great example of an all-in-one.
Saw the machine on Facebook. Took no coffee breaks.
Looks good in CGI, I’d like to see an actual video. The patching procedure itself sounds interesting, whether the machine can do all that is another.
In the video, there's a human operator standing there with the controls. In essence, it replaces a road crew with a machine plus single operator.
“Interesting concept.

Sure they will.
By the time such a machine is actually on the job union rules will have:
1 certified operator
1 certified electrician
1 certified mechanic
and so on until a 1-2 man operation is staffed by 8 people of which only 1 is actually doing anything.
And the machine will have to be shut down while the union hacks take their union mandated breaks.
Whats not to love?
Never work.
Threatens union jobs...
