Great stuff. Thanks for posting. I worked for Waring in 1964 in Delaware Water Gap, PA
Betty Boop “I Heard” (1933)
Oh,my——that’s the year that I was born.
Many people think that Scott Joplin was followed immediately by the big Swing bands. The biopics about Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, and others, portrayed the music they played as sidemen in the 20’s and early 30’s as gooey, ricky-ticky stuff.
"Oh, he said that she said that she didn't know where she got it,
But he said that she said that the law was going to stop it."
In 1984, my parents worked with Fred Waring at a choral music workshop at Penn State. The day after the workshop ended, Waring passed away.
