Bill Clinton, GW Bush, and Obama have one thing in common -- they had a chance to take out North Korea's nuclear threat with minimal risk to the US.
Politically speaking, I believe it is really that simple.
No matter how Trump handles this, he is trying to solve a crisis that NEVER should have arisen.
There was no ounce of prevention, but the future cure could be unspeakable not only in terms of human lives, but also the worst environmental disaster in human history.

Bush called N.Korea a part of the ‘Axis of Evil’ but also did nothing. There are obviously reasons these guys did not act.

I find the use of “environemtal issues” by the author rather comical, and here is why.
Who, how many, and to what depth, have other piece writers decried “environmental issues” with the Gulf War, and the long-present one, in Iraq and Afghanistan?
The present author sees the chilling spectre of nuclear war, and fears rightly. Now, what about all those pounds of depleted uranium projectiles already spewed all over “the sand”?
Why deal with something today that you can put off for your successors to deal with?
All these politicians get promises for jobs in the private sector of Wall Street or Washington Lobbys after they rotate out of “public service”. They wont deal with the enormous national debt either. They just heap it all on their Children and grandchildren. It’s not their problem. Their only problems are looking good to voters and where their next contribution is coming from. Lies for the voters. Promises to the lobbyists. Never ever deal with real problems that can be put off.

It was easier to pay off NK with food [sold in the black market] and kick the can down the road.
But this is the very outcome we had predicted every step of the way. I ALWAYS, throughout my time here, advocated for preventing this even if it meant nuclear strikes in NK.
Whatever it takes.
So did many others in this forum. It was long term thinking, common sense, a no-brainer.

He should be asked what he wants. Why he wants to threaten the world.
If he responds with taking South Korea, it is a good opportunity to explain why those in South Korea are very prosperous and why they would not want to be part of North Korea.
