I love Wal*Mart, but I hate a lot of their cotton clothing, especially if it comes from India.
Is it just me? Makes me itch right away, a lingering itch.
And today I tried on some cotton clothes from Pakistan --same problem.
I noticed the same thing on some T-shirts from India. Maybe I should have washed them before wearing.
They probably spray some kind of sizing chemical on them that washes off in the laundry.

Frankenfabrics. It’s not just cotton (or cotton so-called). There’s a certain third world ick to much of it.
Same with paper products and packaging. Recycled (i.e. degraded). Recycled... from what?
Get to scratching.
It’ll eventually go away with a wash or two. MAYBE......
I tried numerous washings. If it’s Wal*Mart cotton from India, it never worked. Not for me, anyway.
I hope it’s not some new kind of cotton. It’s horrible.
I learned from an employee at a department store that it wasn’t uncommon for clothes to be permeated with formaldehyde. I guess it was for preservation purposes in far-away warehouses in third-world countries. She said always wash new clothes. This was 25 years ago, so I don’t know if this holds true.
I thank goodness they don’t carry my sizes. Haband for me.
Always wash new clothing that comes from overseas esp.India/Pakistan/Bangladesh. Always. Different story though with T’s from Israel. You put them on and right away you’re lusting for matzos and pickled herring.
Could have stopped there.
I googled ‘frankenfabrics’, not sure this is a matter of being ‘eco-friendly’.
Washing doesn’t help.
I’m one of those people who has to wash everything before I can comfortably wear it. If I spend the afternoon at Macy’s looking at their shirts, pants or jackets, I will have to spend a couple of minutes washing my hands and wrists before I can move on with the day. In short, I’m hyperallergenic to certain fabric when prepared in certain ways.
As somebody said here, maybe the stores spray their rack garments with something to keep wrinkles off. I still haven’t figured out what it is.
When clothing comes to my home that I have ordered online, my routine is to wear plastic gloves while removing the wrapping and all the labels, then dump the new garment directly into the wash, never having to touch it at all.
Maybe their antiquated cotton gin ain’t separatin’ the seeds from the cotton fibers.
Washing doesn’t help.
It does feel like cotton seeds are mixed in.
Well maybe psychologically it might help.
