Blade runner was like the Matrix, only darker.

Original Blade Runner was great.
In recent years, Scott has provided great concepts but poor execution. Generally, Hollywood can’t write for crap.
The Expanse is a decent series.

Actually, the most profound question it poses is, “just because it is legal to kill some one that is clearly human, with 23 chromosomes, same as you, does it make it moral?”
Think of it as an insidiously pro-life movie.

You dont want to see it, you REALLY dont.

Is Vangelis providing the soundtrack? Pure genius, I have several selections from the OST on my overnight playlist.

American Assassin - Movie to be released in about a week.
https://www.amazon.com/American-Assassin-Thriller-Mitch-Novel/dp/1416595198
Apparently based on the Mitch Rapp novel by Vince Flynn
They deviated from the books for diversity in casting (Irene Kennedy is black), but it looks like the Americans are the good guys, Muslim terrorists are the bad guys, guns in the right hands are good, and morality matters. That is unusual for Hollywood. I wouldn’t quite say I’m optimistic, but I will at least check what people I respect say. I may actually see a current movie this year.

12 Monkeys...
No one notices that the pistol given
to James in the Airport scenario is
An obscure French Le Matt Black Powder
Circa 1890...
James Cole was being “set-up”.

12 Monkeys...
Time travel movies Usually don’t
Cut It for me but 12 MONKEYS
Is The Exception.
No time travel in
Blade Runner...just Flash Backs.

Although the 12 MONKEYS movie is quite entertaining, the SyFy TV series is much better as the character development is more pronounced as is the overall writing.
The SyFy version of Dr. Cassandra Railly is infinitely more pleasing to the eye.

Ridley Scott was a young director and chose (for most of us) almost unheard of people to play the parts, which they did superbly. He was in the middle of a few projects at the time, soon to do Aliens, and it almost seemed like a bit of an effort to fill a void, both in his time and in the movie genre then....Blade Runner was made after Alien and the first two Star Wars so both Scott and Harrison Ford were bona fire stars at that point. Don't get me wrong I love the flick - the director's cut without the voice over is my favorite. The sequel coming my this fall.... meh.
