Yes, but this case might be the rare exception that proves your rule.

There certainly were some scary-fierce women chronicled in the Icelandic Sagas. Not saying they were warriors, but they did fight and kill.

The Celts had their warrior queen, Boudicca. And much later, there was the phenomenon of Joan of Arc (who might have had some Viking blood). Later still we had the Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher.

Joan of Arc never killed anybody. She thumped any who got near her with the flat of her sword. Getting near her wasn’t all that easy as she was attended by a guard.

The Norse and the Celts had very different attitudes toward their women than their contemporaries to the south. To the Greeks and Romans daughters and wives were little better than chattel. Shield Maidens aren't a myth.

The Sagas whether Icelandic or Norse are mythology or lore very little true history

They are stories

Dragons and Giants and dwarf kings etc too

Women in the sagas are always pushing the men to take revenge for whatever reason on each other....that’s their main role

On the other hand we have Viking invasions of Saxon England for 100s of years and the subsequent Danelaw yet no record at all of women warrriors

Not one

And a lot of data and fairly contemporary accounting to examine

Sorry it’s just mythology appropriated by Hollywood and a lie told often enough it becomes fact
