As that massive storm battered Texas and other parts of the South, Mexico’s foreign minister reached out to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to offer assistance with the recovery efforts — something the nation also did following Hurricane Katrina.
It was a gracious and humane gesture from a country that has received nothing but crude invective from Trump. And of course, Trump responded to the offer not with thanks and gratitude, but with zero acknowledgment of it at all as he unleashed more racist garbage about Mexico.
And now, following that treatment and with its own natural disasters to contend with, Mexico has revoked the offer of assistance.

I’d be more likely to believe the author’s spin if an 8+ earthquake wasn’t the far more likely reason for Mexico to keep the pesos for the 2.5 million people there that need help.
Trump will send help to them, too. They’ll take it, too. And then Trump can bring it up at the next MAGA Rally!
Well, in the true spirit of “friendship”, the U.S. should rescind any offers to help Mexico clean up after its 8.1 earthquake last week. We have enough cleaning up to do in Houston and most of Florida.
Aren’t we all bigoted White Supremacists here in the U.S.? If so, let’s live down to our reputation.
F%ck Mexico. Mexico has never done anything for the benefit of the United States. The time is soon coming we will visit upon the country of Mexico a righteous and devastating retribution!

That would be fine with me but their citizens won’t be able to collect any benefits for 30 years while we Make Mexico Great so they can pay into the system like anyone else. Can’t say ‘again’ because I don’t know if it was ever great.
