Could be many things that led the kid to attempt suicide, including severe bullying at school, lack of girls showing interest in him, etc. In any case, I tend to lose sympathy for people who choose to endanger other people's lives in the attempt.

She’s standing in front of a poster she created for a talk on multiculturalism as it applies to refugees entering the US. Probably a SJW, but she didn’t deserve to die that way and maybe she would have smartened up as life went on. I was beyond an SJW when I was her age.

Twelve year old kids don’t usually commit suicide. Odds are somebody pushed him.
The woman’s boyfriend, and likely others, well may have seen the boy jump from the overpass. There seems to be little doubt from what I’ve read.

Marisa Harris a 22 year old Olney, Maryland woman has died after a 12 year old boy landed on the vehicle she was driving after jumping from an overpass in a suicide bid.
The incident led to the woman being pronounced dead after the child crashed through Harris’ windshield. Remarkably the suicidal boy survived and is now in critical care in hospital reported NBC Washington.
At the time, Harris had been making her way through Virginia in her Ford Escape when the boy jumped from an overpass on Cedar Lane on Interstate 66 (I-66), only to land on her vehicle 30 feet below.
