It was evening rush hour on Congress Street, and six lanes of buses, vans, cars, trucks, and bikes were fighting for position. The tension — HONKKKKK!!! — was palpable.

Well, to some.

Phone zombie Kaitlin Mulcahey crossed the major Boston thoroughfare with nary a care in the world beyond her own palm. She was communing with her screen when she was startled by a reporter on the sidewalk.

Is it okay to read a book walking down the street? Or let your mind wander back to sweeter times?

Thank God the democrats look out for us.

What would we do without them?

It is incredible how many people will cross streets in this manner.

The fine for jaywalking in Boston is $1.

F***ing a***hol** that walk around with headphones and their eyes on their phone deserve to be thrown in the Charles.

Of course, that’s just my opinion.

I'm often distracted when walking in my home town but I've recently found that it's wise to be alert and obey crossing signals in Manhattan!

There are existing laws for jaywalking. The government has no more right to control the ability of people to text while they walk than they do to control the ability of people to stare up at contrails as they walk or stare down at the pavement as they walk.

We must pass a law against those times that you are distracted. A man should only be distracted in his own domicile.

What’s the fun in running down phone zombies? They don’t look up at you in terror and make eye contact moments after you slam on the brakes and milliseconds before you slam into them. You don’t even get the deer-in-the-headlights look like with an 85 year old.

I think we should legalize the use of train and ship horns in vehicles. Put the fear of God in them at least 1/8 mile in advance. It would save wear and tear on tires and brakes and replacement bumpers.

I saw a homeless guy in the right lane of a 4 lane street.
He was pushing a shopping cart against traffic. He was nearly in the middle of the lane. The cars had to go into the left lane to avoid hitting him. He did not have a smart phone but he was as crazy as those that walk around staring at them.
Zombies are all over the world.
