Environmentalists take Norway to court over Arctic drilling

Representatives for Norway’s government appeared in an Oslo court on Tuesday after environmental groups including Greenpeace brought a case over drilling in the Arctic.

Greenpeace, along with environmentalist youth group Natur og Ungdom (Nature and Youth), has sued the Norwegian state over licenses it awarded in 2016 for oil prospecting in the Barents Sea.

The Scandinavian country is western Europe’s biggest oil producer.

A third group, called the Grandparents Climate Campaign, has also joined the case against the state.

The plaintiffs accuse Norway of violating the Paris Agreement on climate change and a section of the country’s constitution amended in 2014 that guarantees the right to a healthy environment. …

Never mind have Norwegians freeze to death in all that “global warming” in this and future winters thanks to not availing of heating oil.

Yes, Norwegians have been on easy street for years, thanks entirely to state-produced oil revenues. But like millennials here, they seem merely to assume they are entitled to it, and will be forever, without anyone having to find a way to make it so.

Well it is Greenpeace, the terrorists in their own right who throw rocks in the ocean in an attempt to stop commercial fishing, to “save the whales” or suchlike.
