The cult leader, who had been behind bars for more than 45 years, died at 8.13pm on Sunday at a hospital in Kern County, California.
He was transferred from Corcoran State Prison with an undisclosed illness last week.
The news of his death was confirmed by Debra Tate, the sister of his most famous victim, actress Sharon Tate, who was pregnant with film director Roman Polanski's baby when she was stabbed to death by his followers.
'This could be the end of an era or just the beginning,' she declared, adding: 'I said a prayer for his soul.'

Not sure if he was given the death penalty. Then sometime in the 1970’s they did away with it so it would not have applied to him if he had been given it.
He did not actually kill anyone only ordered the hit so there in lies a gray area.

Well said, the world is a better place with Manson dead! I remembered when the murders were committed and later on, read "Helter Skelter" by Vincent Bugliosi, the prosecuting attorney for Manson's trial. Manson was a diabolically evil manipulator!

For what ever reason, supreme court over turning death penalty? He did not get it.
The BSU did get to study him so he was a help in some way, it was not a total waste.

Don’t get me wrong still hope he got right with God before he died but somehow suspect he did not and he had 83 years to do so.
The look in his eyes? Is like he just hates everyone and everything. That is the kind of thing only God can fix, had Charlie only asked.

The strange and incredible thing about Manson is that he wanted to start a race war. That was his Helter Skelter strategy.
And evil people and organizations today (Soros, media, BLM, Obama, the "Rev" crowd, Black Panthers, Nation of Islam, etc.) are trying to do just that - and are being successful.

The Greek work for "nation" is ethnos - and the word "nation" is often put into that passage in our Anglo translations. The Greek word "ethnos", refers to people of the same race or nationality who share a distinctive culture. Christ said that one sign of the end times is that there will be an increase and terrible struggle/conflict between ethnicities - which is what we are seeing today.
Another thing of interest is that it was clear that Manson was demon possessed.
I am sure when he died, the many demons who were in him had to flee. They are looking for another host.

hope only a small number of people think he did not get death penalty because he was white or they actually have no idea why. And yet they are on line and can just ask in search engine.. SAD
