NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) The mother of a Norfolk student turned to 10 On Your Side after she was charged by police.
I tried to be fair, but its not fair, said Sarah Sims. There is nothing fair about this.
In late September, Sims says she had enough. She tells 10 On Your Side her 9-year-old daughter was getting bullied at Ocean View Elementary. She says repeated calls and emails to the school went un-returned.
The thing that bothers me the most is that I am yet to get a response from anyone in the administration, Sims added.

Sounds like a case needing jury nullification.
I hope she sues the school.
With the right software, you can record everything with your cell phone, with no time limit, other than memory constraints.
Sounds like a case needing jury nullification.
I was on the jury in two several week cases in King County Superior court (in seattle). When we retired to deliberate, I informed both juries about Jury nullification. It was kinda eye opening for all of them. This was in the late 80’s.
It took some a bit of time to understand that since a judge can’t ask you what you base your opinion on, but only what your individual verdict is, there is nothing they can do.
Enroll your daughter in a self-defense class and have her “discourage” the bullies when no teachers are looking.
.
They can’t make the gathering of evidence illegal.
This simply cannot hold up in any legitimate court.
(OK, what am i thinking; what legit court is there in VA?)

Fill me in as to how she would do that
with her daughter at school. Thanks.
Well, her daughter would have to be in on it. And it could be her daughter’s phone.
The right to due process should include the right to gather evidence.
She needed to have downloaded these conversations to her own private server in her basement. No prosecutor would take this case because there was no intent to break the law.

Excellent advice.
We did that for our daughter (3rd grade) was being beat up regularly by three 6th grade boys.
4 months later these same three 6th grade boys decided to attack her again. One lost his front 2 teeth, one suffered a broken finger and the third took a kick to the face that broke his nose.
She was never picked on ever again by anyone.
We just finished putting my 6 y.o. grandson through a year of karate lessons. And yes, we got called to the school when when he jumped up and kicked some muslim kid in the mouth while in class; all because the kid was repeatedly punching him in the throat. The school officials were upset because there was a lot of blood after the kid bit his tongue as a result of the kick.
She dared to challenge the state, wanted them to address an issue and didn’t realize she serves the state...now she faces the whimsy of their tyranny.
Silly Mother - don’t you know your daughter belongs to the state?
Seriously, I know how vicious girls can be in and out of school. If someone is not part of the clique - watch out!
Hope she sues the school and uses the resources to homeschool her daughter for at least a couple of years.
Our daughter came home with teeth marks on her back. The school solution was to put her in d-hall because I raised a stink because next time I was going to allow her to fight back. Schools don’t seem to grasp the fact that children, not just adults are lawfully allowed to defend themselves.
These are public servants who consider themselves public masters.
Unfortunately, virtually every elected official has had to be approved by the teachers union.
ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL!
Another victim of arcane state wiretapping laws. Passed to protect our State Representatives and their conversations with mafia bag men.
I hope she home schools, did you know that with every lost student comes the loss of federal and state money.
The state and fed give a per student amount.
Another reason why my kids will never be subjected to the perils of the socialist indoctrination camps we call ‘public schools’.
