Stanford University researcher used a computer algorithm to determined whether a neighborhood leaned to the left or right by looking at vehicles in 50 millions of images from Google Street View in 200 American cities.
When sedans outnumbered pickup trucks, there was an 88 percent chance the city would vote Democratic.
In areas with more pickup trucks, the odds switched to 82 percent in favor of Republicans, the researchers concluded.

Most luxury brands reflect Republican leanings, convertibles especially so. Ford Mustangs as well as the F150 are GOP vehicles.
Volvos and Acuras, as well as hybrids are preferred by Dems.
Car preferences by political affiliation seems to have been studied a surprising number of times through the years.

but i still note that most Mercedes and BMW and Lexii drivers seem to be hard core commie type leftists. I would love to be disabused of this observation...but it seems to hold up at least in my limited and obviously unscientific samplings

Escalades stand out a little too much. I think the idea now is to get an SUV that looks like the others on the outside, but has all the goodies inside. I was looking down from a tall building the other day and it seemed like every passenger vehicle was either a silver sedan or a black SUV.
True story, was driving home on the tollway one evening and I saw 2 priuses.... next to each other....one had the coexist bumper sticker and the other prius had “not a liberal” bumper sticker...... wish I could have gotten photo of that....
But are the liberals driving the pickups? Or just the usual Swedish cars?
oh yeah, I drive a GMC Acadia (had a Yukon XL before that) Hubby drives the Lexus and we have a Buick encore the daughter drives.....
Too funny. We own, and drive alternately two old SAABs, and a newer Volvo just to screw up pollsters.
The old ‘89 Ford pick em up truck parked in the wayback behind the corrals gets to run for feed ‘bout twice a month, so nobody sees it.
I drive a 2006 black and chrome Jaguar S Type. All blacks love my car but specifically the men. I get nodded to by them at stoplights all the time. Lol

We own 2 Subarus and a K2500 4X4. What does that mean?
It means it f***ing snows where we live and we don’t buy throwaway American crapcars that don’t offer AWD and 300,000 mile reliability. That’s all it means.
