Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for hundreds of home as a wind-driven brush fire quickly grew to 2,500 acres and was spreading rapidly in the Santa Paula area Monday evening, Ventura County authorities said.
So tese Evacuations are for Santa Paula and Ventura so far, not small towns
wORSE THAN THAT. dISPATCH JUST SAID 15-20K ACREAGE. tO HIGHWAY 33 IN A COUPLE OF HOURS. pOSSIBLY 45k acres by morning.
And everything in between. Close to Ojai. Were I anywhere west, north or south of this I would have an evac plan. Traffic is very bad. Do not wait. Trucks are stationing at Ventura HS. They are prepping to defend ventura.
When it comes like this Evacuation is about all that can be done, they can be thankful started early enough this evening for window of evacuation if they took it.
Yes. You are so right. I went through the Nuns Fire. I would not advise it. Evacuate. Folks need to realize, there are hundreds, if not thousands of professionals fighting this with hundreds of pieces of equipment. If they cannot face it directly, folks like me need to run. I am listening to dispatch and these guys are staring directly into this prepping their defense of Ventura. Brave people.

From another article that came up on a search for news, “Within an hour, the fire grew from 50 to 500 acres.”.
It looks like this could be a real bitch of a disaster if this keeps up. I hope people can escape safely.

Yes. You have a red flag warning as well. Be vigilant. Make an evac list now. People in Ventura are stuck in traffic trying to flee. Trust me. You never know when it is coming for you.
