Doug, don’t let the harsh ones among us get to you. I, for one, enjoyed knowing someone would stop to help a little animal in such circumstances. Aren’t humans supposed to be good stewards of the earth, including all its creatures?

I agree. While I like eating meat and have even eaten rabbit, I wouldn’t want to see a rabbit or any animal burn to death in a wild fire or get run over on a highway.

I along with another driver once pulled over to rescue a stray dog that had somehow managed to make his way onto a busy highway overpass. Poor thing was scared to death and I did fear getting bit but he seemed to understand we were trying to help him.
