California governor blames devastating wildfires on climate change and says
Daily Mail ^ | December 10, 2017 | Keith Griffith

California's governor has said that deadly wildfires in the winter will be 'the new normal', as fire crews rushed to contain the fires, with dry desert winds expected to intensify over the weekend.

Governor Jerry Brown on Saturday toured Ventura County neighborhoods ravaged by a weeklong wildfire that killed at least one person and destroyed hundreds of homes and other buildings.

At a news conference, the Democrat said drought and climate change mean California faces a 'new reality' where lives and property are continually threatened by fire, at a cost of billions of dollars.

He added that gusty winds and low humidity are continuing and warned that there's a good chance of seeing 'firefighting at Christmas'.

He said it will take 'heroic' efforts in the US and abroad to stem climate change and urged US lawmakers to pay more attention to dealing with natural disasters such as fires, floods and earthquakes.

Over the past week, six major wildfires have forced more than 200,000 people to flee and choked the air across much of the region.

Forecasters predict wind gusts to become more intense by Saturday night, challenging the 8,700 firefighters who have been battling the fast-moving blazes for five days.

Just a few months ago the headline was CA Governor Brown Blames Dam Disaster on ‘Global Warming’

For as long as I can remember, the joke about California's seasons was that they were Fire and Mud. How is this year different?

Brown and his criminal democrat liberal thieves filling pockets instead of building a larger and stronger firefighting force of the wild fires that happen every year.

Time to revive CCC Camps.

Get these kids off their butts. Good exercise, good nature lessons and a new kind of friendships.

They need to develop a work ethic.

Clear out the underbrush and put in access roads.

I can't imagine the number of animals killed in these fires....and they're worried about some owl and a four inch fish.

“Moonbeam” is bat $_it crazy. California is in the hands of lunatics (Democrats, same thing). I have little hope of ever seeing California as it was, and should be in my lifetime. I’m no Spring Chicken.

Couldn’t possibly be because of the billions of tons of flammable biomass accumulated because of delusional wildfire management policy, could it Moonbeam?

California deserves to have this schizophrenic as its governor. He reflects the values and nature of the majority of the state’s inhabitants.

Some basic forestry management might be a good idea.

Then I’d leave the country, Moon

Preferably some Third World place that doesn’t burn fossil fuels and has plenty of ignorant, gullibles like your CA constituencies

Think how popular you’d be. And we all know that’s what really drives you

I am a third generation native of San Diego and I am certain CA is forever GONE. In fact, I can barely wait until the end of next summer to move back to Mississippi!

I am forever done with CA.

They even saw some illegals/Mexicans starting fires. What a load of BS by the media. Male journalism majors in college were the biggest wimps/whiners/non male types I ever saw.

What Brown is ACTUALLY saying is the state of California will not allow anyone to effect sane land management practices to reduces the threat of wildfires.

Greenies are big believers in “the natural burn”.

No clearing of brush, ESPECIALLY within 100 meters of any stream, whether it has water year around or not. No clearing of forest undergrowth.

Not even on your own private land.

None.

Though I will note, somehow, someway, property owners in Tahoe ($$$$) were able to bypass the rules and clear the brush within 50 meters of their homes.

But nowhere else.

It’s a friggin’ disgrace.

Has governor Moonbeam blamed the earthquakes on global warming / climate change, yet?

If not, wait a week.
