An Oklahoma high school teacher and a 16-year-old student allegedly initiated proceedings to get married.
Cassandra Renae White, 34, and the male high school sophomore filed for a marriage license in Cleveland County on December 13, KFOR reports.
The news station further reports that the boy's father signed off on the marriage license.

Per KTEN, their policy on such matters reads in part: 'Any romantic or sexual affiliation between school personnel and students, including students who have reached the age of majority (18) during school hours will have a negative impact on the educational process and shall constitute a violation and suspension or termination for the employee.'
'The District is currently cooperating with law enforcement in the investigation of these allegations,' the statement read.
Police say they first heard of the allegations in early December.
A person who is 16 years old may be married provided there is parental consent.
However, Oklahoma law dictates that rape charges can be filed in cases where a teacher has sex with a student in the same school system who is between 16 and 20 years old.
At present, the case is being investigated by Davis Police Department's Domestic and Sexual Assault Crimes unit.
No charges have been filed.

At least two teachers at my high school did this (married students) back in the 1970s. In both cases that I know abut, they waited until after the girl graduated.
I also know of at least one girl student who was sexually involved with a teacher; nothing ever happened to the male teacher (other than being effectively shunned by many other faculty members). The girl moved away, finished high school elsewhere.
Pretty enough to have her pick probably, but she picked a 16 year old. She’s an idiot.

The biological clock of these teachers starts ticking and they see all these virile young men around...and the boys having probably limited sexual experience and being impressionable...

I would question her maturity level....she might be mid-30s and college-educated, but I see the maturity level of a 13-year-old kid.
The problem now? What exactly...career-wise...will she do? Teaching is out totally now. Work at some local Dollar General store? Shift-manager for some burger chain?
I guess I grew up in the wrong era. When I was in school we had really mean and nasty psycho nuns. Nobody messed with the psycho nuns.

Pedophilia and child molestation usually is up to 14 in most states. Having sex with a 16 year old is usually statutory rape. only rape because of the age of the other person ,maybe 14-17.
The entire story is one of a fully dysfunctional family on both sides of the equation.
