Would you try this cheesy drink?

Tea and cheese are the latest trending ingredients for San Francisco’s newest Instagram worthy food item.

STEAP Tea Bar, in San Francisco’s Chinatown, is now making a popular Asian drink known as cheese tea.

“It’s a horrible name, but it’s not cheddar cheese or Velveeta on top of tea, it’s more of a whipped tea top,” said the owner of STEAP Tea Bar, Emil de Francesco, in an interview with SF Gate.

The drink is iced black or green tea with a “cheese cream” topping made from mascarpone cheese.

Judge: Ending Program to Protect Immigrants Creates Hardship Although this tea is new to the United States it originally started in Taiwan and was made from powdered cream cheese, but the owner of STEAP Tea Bar told SF Gate he preferred to use mascarpone cheese, claiming it gave the drink more “depth.”

STEAP Tea Bar is not the only Bay Area business that sells the cheesy drink, Happy Lemon and Enough Tea & Coffee do too.

Would you try this cheesy drink?

claiming it gave the drink more “depth.” ...

It's called 'mouthfeel' in the processed food industry and is due to the added fat content.

The description isn’t bad if you can get past calling it “Cheese Tea”.

I really hate the term “Bay Area”.
I was raised in the Chesapeake Bay Area, and everyone referred to it as “The Bay Area”.
But I’m fairly sure that the “Bay Area” in this article means somewhere on the Left Coast.

Sounds French. Will imbibers have a propensity to surrender to the nearest simian?
