Suspicious Case of Mobile Phones Dying En Mass (Youtube video 3:02 min)

This video is 3:02 minutes in length. I can't find another source of the information about hundreds of cell phones at a stadium in the UK "instantly" doing dead due to drained batteries but will post it here in case others have heard of this or have information about what could cause this.

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: cellphone; outage
One comment on the page suggested that maybe "the gov also has the ability to pull electrons right out of the air with electromagnets" and most of the comments I skimmed said it can't be local EMP because that technology does not drain batteries. I'd be interested in any ideas or related content you've heard.

Sounds more like a hack that sends a signal to the phones telling them to dump their charge.

Someone commenting on that video suggested an app or more that requires permissions that ultimately is exploited or intended for this purpose. I don’t like it, whatever it is. For your hack scenario is that a few kids with too much time on their hands or something a little more advanced or official? I hear creepy things about Google but I did NOT hear that this scenario was “android only.”

the chemtrails ate your cellphone batteries.

Yeah a shared app exploit would be an easy door for such a hack but who knows what way someone figured out how to do this. Could even be a secret embedded command only known to a select few developers and gov agents. It would be useful to thwart terrorists in an emergency situation, but would need to be kept secret for as long as possible to prevent contingencies of course.

Interesting. That could interrupt cell-phone activated explosives in a stadium, airport or other public area. Hmmm....

There are several one-off venue-specific apps created for rock and DJ-type performances; one of these could be in use and over-cycling and running down the cell batteries.

Kids put these apps on their phones in exchange for discounts on food/drinks and merchandise (some include Tinder-like functionality to introduce people, find common interests, etc) in exchange for providing micro-analytics to the app builders.

The apps run on wifi in the venue and provide all manner of locational and interactional data. This is useful to the app builders in terms of things like placement of services, advertising, seating, etc.

One app builder got in trouble not too long ago for collecting data outside the venue it had originally been intended for.

Big brother thanks you for your cooperation, which you really didn’t have any choice in.

This was theorized and modeled.

In this subsection, we consider the gross gyral morphology in relation to the typical mass drain onset, course and ending. But before, we refer to a particular curvature-induced phenomenon that provides a mechanism how wave segments can emerge in the first place. It was shown that the wave front can undergo a critical deformation above which propagation is blocked [31]. A broken wave front is needed to distinguish spatio-temporal pattern obtained in the susceptibility intervals (σ>1) and (1>σ>0). The evolution of closed wave fronts does not differ much until the front breaks open, for instance due to a local curvature-induced excitation block.

“the gov also has the ability to pull electrons right out of the air with electromagnets”

As an electronician, I confirm it’s nonsense. EMP draining battery theories too are nonsense.
Batteries are simply energy tanks. The physics to drain energy out of a tank into thin air without transformation (like heat, sound, vibration) simply doesn’t exist.

Possible causes : software virus, fake news, big numbers probability (running out of battery happens all the time with smartphones, so when there is a lot of smartphones at a same place, the probability that a good number is out of battery is not null)...

That's pretty insightful.
